Tuesday night's workshop night, at 7.30pm as usual, will be 'Workflow'...
<!--break-->
Not picture manipulation workflow, but file management workflow. Where do you store your images and how do you view them? Do you use 'keywords', do you 'rate' your images and can you find things easily? Most probably we'll be focusing on Lightroom, Aperture and Bridge and also some basic operating system tips for those who don't have these applications. See you then folks!
Comments
It's short notice but one to look out for!
Just playing about with a new symbol to draw attention to workshop nights! Cool, isn't it. And now both the hand-in warning symbol and this new workshop symbol appear on their page as well as on the syllabus listing page.
I really do like that but now you need a better sign for Hand Ins
why? I like the warning symbol.
Rachel would like to point out that we have a life beyond the club website!
1. really? 2. really?
Yes, really. What else would you have? A small hand? A little in tray? A set of justice scales!
They all sound good
Feel free to draw one, colour it orange gradation, create a shadow, overlay on grey, spend an hour or so coding the site so that some users can switch it off and on with a simple selector in their admin area and the site automatically adds the graphic where appropriate. Only to have some members tell you it could be better!
Oh and I was giving cheesy options in the previous post that you were suppose to not like, not like.
What a relief, Ian, you did not choose a hammer and sickle. :)
Details are added above for those who are interested.
I assume you would rather not change? I've seen a red hand symbol somewhere which might look good.
hmmm, a red hand? maybe not.
I think that a wooden spoon is more in keeping.

I'm sorry but I've not had any time to prepare anything like that. There won't be any rush, I'll go at the slowest pace so we'll make time to jot down notes as we go.

I would think we could easily manage a question and answering set of comments here afterwords Colin. I'll try and pay attention - as will anyone else who's there I hope and so if we all chip in then I'm sure this could be as good as notes?
Lightroom Tutorial

For those who attended tonight's Jim Main (VG) tutorial on Lightroom and wish to know some more, here are some links that are especially useful for FREE training in its use:
1.
http://www.adobe.com/support/photoshoplightroom/gettingstarted/index.html
That link has a number of good videos by Adobe by Julianne Kost who was one of the software's developers.
2.
http://lightroomkillertips.com/
That link is a regular blog by Matt Klowskowski and features numerous "how to" short videos as well as a useful search facility for finding more information about discreet topics concerning the best use of Lightroom features. Matt is one of the key presenters of NAPP (Scott Kelby's gang). He also has a number of useful links on that site guiding one to other informative sites.
3. And, a simple "Google" will deliver any amount of stuff that should answer about any question you can think of.
