"The Basics of nature (or wildlife) photography" by Jo McIntyre
Comments
I'm going to cover (just in my opinion!!) settings, composition, equipment, clothing, a few simple tips when getting started taking nature images, and some basics on animal behaviour and fieldcraft.
I'll also talk about current trends in wildlife photography in internation/national salons, and why I started entering them; and i'll also show some of my very first images, of nature, I took 5 yrs ago (they're not good!)
I'll also go into some detail on how I approach, plan, and take an image, when i'm out in the field, and then i'll also show my simple photoshop workflow to produce a PDI (only)
Dont worry i wont baffle with science, or technicals ! - as i'm not tecnically minded, and have no film background, which i think helps me "understand the photography rules, and then comfortably break them... ! "
Hopefully with some basic hints, tips, and what i've learnt in the last 5 years, sprinkled with lots of new unseen images in the club before it will be a fun night :-)
thanks for re-posting this from a few wks ago Ian, and reminding me what i said i'd cover :-)
Just moved it from the Monday syllabus page.
