I'm going to look at ways to trigger your off-camera speedlight; getting the expoure right; light modifiers (gels, umbrellas, softboxes, grids, reflectors).
No portraits this time! We're going to re-create "Splahdown", which is the last photograph in my Gallery. It's hard (but not impossible) to shoot this sort of thing without a speedlight.
I'm not making any promises, but if time allows you can try this out with your camera and my speedlights. You will need a DSLR with a flash hotshoe to fire my trigger. Since we'll be using the camera and flash on Manual it should all work with both Canon and Nikon but experience shows that Sony cameras are not compatible. .
sadly not able to make it. am away. sorry
John Pearson presents the use of speed lights. in this dark wet weather this will be a god send to lots off members. I hope we will have a good turn out to this basics night as Gordon said a bit more than basic so come along to Holywood hall for 7.30pm. Cost £2 for hall fees and tea or coffee will be served.
Thank you John for a great night and for a good turn out of members.
Thanks John - very informative and enjoyable. Much appreciated.
