(Tuesday) Workshop 'Bridge'

cat-work
Tue 4 Dec 2012 7:30pm

An evening's tutorial around Adobe Bridge by John Pearson. It contains lots of features found in Lightroom, but most people think it's just a file browser. So if you're thinking of "jumping ship" to Lightroom come to this talk first! And if you're already a Bridge user, check whether you are using all the features.

I'll cover features like ........

Downloading and editing after a shoot
File browsing and searching
Different kinds of previews
Using the breadcrubs (No, it's not a cookery course!!)
Displaying key data about your images
Rating your images
Filtering images by file type, rating, focal length, exposure, ISO ... almost anything
Creating contact sheets, slideshows and web galleries
Renaming files
Opening images in Camera Raw
Adding Keywords, Copyright information and other metadata
Tailoring and saving the workspace
Mini-Bridge - a mini-masterpiece in its own right

Comments

i think it'll be nice to learn more about the function of a camera and how they would help in the wide world

What is this going to be?

With only one comment for this workshop it has been suggested that I give my Hungary for Birds talk again because a number of people missed it first time around. Shirley, God bless her wants to see it again! So that is what I will do. I believe we have to make a small charge to cover the cost of the room.

It will start at 7.30 as normal and I would appreciate if people who want to come just add tyheir names to this entry so that we can see what numbers we are talking about. Thanks.

Me,me!

Me too

John Pearson has also kindly agreed to provide a presentation on the use of Bridge within Photoshop. There's a lot more to this facility in Photoshop than most of us begin to realise. We will therefore need to find a way to provide the equipment for both. Does anyone have a digital projector at home that we could maybe borrow?

I have the old club one at the moment as we used it at one of our informal meetings. John got it working

I am interested in Johns presentation as I use bridge a lot and want to know what more I can do with it. No offence Mick loved your talk first time round.

Sounds like two separate Tuesdays to me.

John's presentation was arranged a couple of months ago and has been mentioned at the Club. However, stupid me forgot to put it on the website! Sorry Ian and Rachel, you'll be wondering why you bother.

Should I change the title and info now? Is this all confirmed as John's bridge night?

Can someone tell me what's happening! Has John got any takers?

There was certainly a show of hands when I mentioned it at the club, although that was some time ago. I'd like to see both, as I only managed to see the second half of Mick's first time around, so maybe we could have them on separate nights. I believe John's been working on his talk and is geared up for that night. Can we discuss next Wednesday and announce our plans to the club (for those that don't follow the website religiously)?

That's fine by me though it would be helpful to get a date arranged so that those who would like to see my talk can get it in their diaries.

I would really like to attend both of these nights, if it can be fitted into my diary!
