Dumfries Camera Club is celebrating its 70th birthday and, as part of the celebration you are invited to be part of a major exhibition of portraits to be held in the Gracefield Galleries, Edinburgh Road, Dumfries, from 26 August 2017 until 30 September 2017.  Hundreds of small photographs of local people will be suspended on strings throughout the Gallery, each labelled with the your name, just a little background information - how long you have lived in D&G, what you do, etc., nothing intrusive.

You will be asked to sign a very simple form so that copies of the images can be stored, for future generations, by the Dumfries and Galloway Archives Service.  Just think how wonderful it will be, perhaps 100 years from now, for your great grand children, or lost relatives, to find this photograph in the archive!

We hope to show the huge diversity of our region.  The only stipulation is that you must live in D&G - some will be born and bred in the area - some may have just moved here.

And, we will send you a free digital photograph, suitable for printing or for posting to social media.

We want to take pictures of individual people rather than family groups but we will be happy to photograph everyone in your family and provide a free digital photo for all of them.

e-mail print@dumfriescameraclub.co.uk and we will make arrangements to take your photograph, somewhere in town, in a studio or in your home.
