Club Night = Club Draw. Please bring your £1s and Good luck.

With last week's draw being won by Maybeth Jamieson (£10.50) to-night will see a fresh sheet.

Can someone send me the details of the Irene Froy workshop please as it is not in the syllabus or in news and events. If I had the details I could post it in the appropriate place

I'll give you the details tonight Margaret, there is a poster up in Gracefield and has been since day one, also, it has been announced every week for weeks and still little interest, but we could put it in events, don't think syllabus is the place for it tho.. it's not our event...

Thank you Gordon. I know it has been announced in the club, Dumfries is part of the western area group so it is part our event. I just need to know the true details without guessing or making mistakes when I enter it in the events page.

Unfortunatly I am unable to go to it as I have another event the same day and I am vexed that I will miss such a good opertunity to get tips from Irene as her work is amoung some of the best.

Brilliant talk Michael. Entertaining. Stunning images of outstanding quality - from, quite possibly, a deranged mind. And I was laughing along with the rest of us when we should have been offering counselling? Joking aside (maybe) I thought the standard of the photography combined with bizarre story telling made for captivating imagery. Many thanks.

I hadn't looked at your website Michael, so the talk wasn't what I was expecting, fortunately. For some reason I thought it would be nude females - which isn't my cup of tea and neither is fashion.

Instead the talk was way better than I thought it was going to be. Doubt if I would have got much of the symbolism without your explanation - and I thought I had a fair knowledge of mythology. Putting the panel up at the end was a great idea as your work has to be seen close up to fully appreciate it.

During my 30 years as a member of Dumfries Camera Club I have rarely been as entertained or as awe inspired by a visiting speaker's presentation and their photographs. Humour, a mythological history lesson, an insight into a unique photographer's approach to his art and, above all, some of the most stunning images I have had the opportunity to adimire at the club. If photography is indeed 'painting with light', then Michael has truly captured the essence of photography. I am only sorry for those members who were unable to attend last night due to the weather or other engagements.

Family committments kept me away - and it seems I missed a great evening.
