Adobe Lightroom with Jim Main

Comments

Jim will give an insight to working with adobe Lightroom, this extra meeting is for all members who have or wish to get Lightroom for their work flow and raw conversion. New members could find this useful as well as seasoned members who wish to find out more about the program.
It is held at Gracefield in the usual meeting room. As it is an extra meeting it has a more relaxed mood to it. A small charge of £2 is made to cover the hire of the hall.
Tea or coffee with a biscuit will be served half way through, this will also give time for an informal chat.

Thanks Jim - very informative and helpful. Will give Lightroom another chance and hopefully the light will go on and stay on this time!

Thank you Jim a good turn out and so much info to take in.

Even the broken biscuits are gone.

Basics in October with Geoff, landscape photography not to be missed for the beginner.

Excellent evening! Didn't get a chance to ask but does Lightroom have a Soft Proof facility in the Print Module?

Really useful evening Jim - thanks.  I currently use Aperture but it appears to have no future with Apple so I think I should bite the bullet and change over.  No small task now that I understand the very different ways the programmes store files.  I believe Adobe are working on a migration programme so may wait for that.

Glad you all enjoyed it, I enjoyed doing it.

Rod, yes you can do a Soft-proof but strangely you don't do it in the Print module. If you go to the Develop module you'll see a check-box in the bottom left of the image viewing window marked 'Soft-proof', when this is checked a new menu option appears in the list on the right giving you all of the options for creating your proof with profile etc.
